Unleash is proud to introduce you to the first member of the Unleash Team. Please see Steve Randall's profile below. i have watched Steve over the years take to training in a number of sports. His focus has been kayaking and he has proved that hard work, plenty of enthusiasm, a good attitude, the odd rescue and blood sweat and tears can pay off. Steve will be pair up with Tim Hookins from Sydney to compete in the K2. Steve and Tim have trained and competed together in the past and are planning to head to the Fish River Classic in South Africa later in the year. The water level is going to prove to be an issue for the boys and they may be forced to walk the odd section as they are in a K2. However the boys are excited and are just keen to get out on the water, have fun and give the the other competitors a run for their money.

Race Conditions: Poor - the water level was the lowest it has been in the 38yr history of the event.
Well done Steve and Tim. The conditions sounded a little tough and we are glad that you made it through the majority of the race with out injury. The knowledge you gain with every race will help you get through the Fish River....

The event comprises of an upstream and downstream paddle totaling 10.5 km, a user friendly two-lap mountain bike leg totalling 21 kms and a one lap cross-country run of 9.6km
Steve will be putting his multiSport skills to the test. This will also be the last event before steve and Tim head to South Africa for the Fish River Marathon.

The Fish Marathon is a legendary race in South Africa and over the years i have heard of rapids that swallow K2 boats and when they spit them out, that is if they decide to, the paddlers get a little reality check. That is if they can remember where they are!!
